Lunch on the the Pacific

16 Nov

We are spending the week in Central California and I wanted to share pictures!  On Monday, we visited the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur and all I can say is WOW! Stunning views, spectacular details and brisk ocean air!   We had lunch at the Inn’s on site restaurant, Sierra Mar overlooking the Pacific Ocean! The food was super yummy and we noshed on hummus, pink “hybrid” cauliflower, and of course red wine!

You always hear about the use of natural elements “bringing the outdoors in” .  The Post Ranch Inn has every touch of the outdoors…indoors. I love that you feel as if you are outside even when walking through the indoor spaces. Here are a few of my favorite details.

Stairs, stairs and more stairs. You will get your work out in for the day just climbing your way up to the restaurant! The detailing on the stair rails was unique and a touch that is used frequently throughout the Inn.

Once you reach the top, the restaurant entry is framed with metal sculpture and the most gorgeous walking paths.

As you can see, the climb was worth it. The ocean view was gorgeous.

We had lunch outside on the deck overlooking the ocean.

I am a big fan of the distressed wood floors on the deck, I think I took over 10 pictures just of the wood floors! They were so textural and perfectly weathered.

The base of the tables carried on the unique metal sculptural theme.

The flatware had a rustic chic feel to them.

My favorite spot, the indoor fireplace! Slate floors, more metal sculptural details and check out those wood plank ceilings!
