Moving Day {The Big Reveal}

27 Feb

Today is moving day and I am happy unveil The Studio’s new look!  Our design website & blog have a new look and I hope you love it as much as I do.  It’s all me with a chic new upgraded look  including quatrefoils, a glamourous feel and of course touches of PINK.  Having the site, blog and my email down for a few days was strange feeling but I couldn’t be more pleased with the easy transition.

If you are a blog subscriber, please make sure to re-suscribe on the new blog and make sure you update you rss feeds too.

Ten 25 = Three

25 Oct

Today is Ten 25!  Three years ago today I married Dru Fenimore and found my brutally honest best friend and sarcastic equal in life! Saying “I do” to him that day was the beginning of this wonderful chapter in my life. Happy Anniversary Drusky! Thank you for teaching me that 99% of life is about showing up!

We were married at Auberge du Soleil in Napa Valley. The weather was a perfect 72 degrees and the 48 guests were made up of our family and closest friends.

The details

A few additions…..

Our first home!  We moved into our new home shortly after we were married and started the renovation of our 1950’s ranch within a few months of moving in! A little advise….don’t live in your house while it is being remodeled! It was a nightmare.

Studio Ten 25 becomes official!  Dru actually came up with the name.  Studio, because it reminds me of those many many hours spent in the design studio back in college!   Ten 25, because I wanted something with numbers that would mean something special, so instead of 1025 we got a little tricky.

At the Studio Ten 25 launch Party!

The last step, adding to the family! We lost our first puppy, Cricket just after her 1st birthday and it was one of the most awful experiences to move past.

Now we have Caddo and Ivy! Ivy reminds me so much of Cricket and has the same personality.  Having two dogs is perfect for us, we each have a buddy! When hunting season comes around they are very much daddy’s little girls!

And since you’ve made it to the end of the post….here is a little treat! We want to celebrate our latest addition to Ten 25 and are offering 20% off EVERY ITEM in the shop for today!

All of the glamorous details

I recently had a photo shoot with my favorite photographer and dear friend Melanie Johnson. My client’s home is absolutely stunning and there are mirrored pieces throughout and as most of you know, I have a serious love for mirrored furniture. Here are a few pictures of the details. I can’t wait to share Melanie’s images!!! Enjoy!

Where can I get that…

12 Oct

Today’s post was inspired by the many phone calls & emails about the feature in the Dallas Morning News this past weekend.  The font image in the article is of our sitting room and received the most “where can I get the…?”. So I decided to share the details of our sitting room.

We living in a 1950’s ranch style home with a rectangular room as the entry. We really don’t use the sitting room but I knew I wanted it to be stunning at first sight. We do have dogs but this ivory velvet should be okay since it’s not the main sitting area in the house.

My favorite part of this room? The custom sofa of course! We will be adding a custom version to Shop Ten 25 soon!  The piece can be custom made to fit your space and you only have to wait 3-4 weeks!

Some of the items are no longer available…boo.

This area had to compliment the adjacent formal dining room without looking matchy-matchy.

Sofa: Custom / Average Cost $2500 Ivory embossed croc velvet with circle nailhead pattern along the front.

Accent Chairs: Pre-Marriage / Find similar style here

Art: Chris Judy’s Stairway to Heaven 48″x60″ archival paper / here

Accent Tables: Left/ Zgallerie (no longer available)  Right/ Arteriors Home (one of a kind) I fell in love with the rustic iron finish and bring in the circles to compliment the sofa made this piece perfect.

Pillows: Kelly Wearstler’s Fern Tree with velvet backs (Look for them in the SHOP next week!)

Mirrored Accent Tables: West Elm’s  Faceted Side Tables.  You know I have to get in my mirrored furniture.

Accessories:  Left/ Allie & Arlo Glass Decanters, they bring in just a tiny bit of color and don’t over crowd the small end table.    Right/ Barbara Barry Luxe Organizer. This piece keeps the space modern and chic.

Table Lamps: Global Views Banister Lamps / No loner available. These lamps are huge and were the perfect scale for this room. I snagged them on clearance a few months ago!

My Weekend and Monday’s Top 5

11 Oct

I had a great weekend!  I spent time with family, friends and watching the Hogs beat the Aggies! Pig Sooie! My husband is an Aggie and so is Martellus so I will just stop now…I have to cheer for both!

Not to mention the Dallas Morning News feature on Saturday!

Anyway, Sunday hit me pretty hard to say the least. I needed to catch up on orders from the Shop, clean the house and give the girls (the dogs) their much needed bath!

So now I want to start this Monday off with my top 5 picks from Shop Ten 25. I will be adding lots of new products this week but can’t keep my eyes of these…

#1: Rome Greek Key Rug in Gold

Available in two sizes and three colors.

My favorite find… Modern Luxury Dallas

1 Sep

Knowing that the September Fashion and Home issue of Modern Luxury Dallas would most likely be up online at midnight……I did my best to keep my eyes open and hit “refresh” on my laptop every 5 minutes!! Finally, at 12:02 A.M. it was up!!!  When Rebecca Sherman first contacted me to dish on my favorite design finds, I was super excited and had no idea how to narrow it down.  I recently posted ” Design Crush W&R” about Woodson & Rummerfield and am so happy to see them mentioned here in Dallas! Enjoy and pick up a copy if your out and about in Dallas or read it online, it’s a great issue!
