Hi! I’m Abbe Fenimore and welcome to the Studio Ten.25 Blog.

I’m a Dallas based designer specializing in residential and commercial interiors.  We offer full service decorating, remodeling and new construction project management.  Need help on  a smaller scale?  Sometimes we get lost in our own space and just need someone to guide us in the right direction. We can customize our services with design consulting and will help you build a “shopping list” if you wish to finish out your space on your own.  I made this blog to share our work and inspirations with you, and to get your feedback.  And if you haven’t seen it, check out our main website STUDIO TEN.25

Bittersweet Branded Me!

November 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I’m sooooo excited to have my stunning business cards in hand! Rose at Bittersweet Design Boutique did such an amazing job with my new logo and overall branding. Working with Rose was simple and I think she captured our vision perfectly. Bittersweet specializes in coming up with good ideas, sketching them out by hand, turning them upside-down, then transforming those ideas that start out on cocktail napkins into professional, digital works of art. Bittersweet  can do anything from branding / logos, baby announcements to wedding invitations and save the dates.

Rose just posted Studio Ten 25’s new swag on her blog….check it out and let us know what you think!

Taking Standard to Stunning

November 16, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I just realized that it has been over a month since I have posted anything on the blog!  We have been busy keeping up with projects in the studio as well as managing other projects around the house.  One of the items on our blog “to-do” list is a kitchen remodel that is full speed ahead. Here are a few before pictures as well as the inspiration board for the final finishes.  The cabinets have been painted a fresh white, the floors and backsplash are out and the new blue-gray wall color is going up too.  Hopefully we have the after pictures soon.

Here is the inspiration board for the project. The cabinets will be painted a fresh white to match the existing trim throughout the house.  The center island is getting a makeover too. We are removing the storage on one half to make way for a new seating area and then grounding it by painting it black. Caesar Stone Pebble and Misty Carrera (on the island) was selected for the countertops. A 4×8 white matte subway tile for the back splash will bring in the modern sleek feel our owners are looking for.  A black slate will replace the existing neutral tile and we will finish off the space with sleek bamboo shades and new seating around the island bar. It will be stunning and a major change for our home owners. Let’s hope they make it through the construction while living in the house!

Organizing with my cover girl!

September 19, 2009 · 1 Comment

It has been a busy weekend around the Studio. This weekend my #1 goal was to ORGANIZE that overgrown pile of paperwork & magazines from the past few months. In between new project proposals, scheduling contractors and updating my quickbooks I finally found time to pick up that huge pile that we have been stepping over for a while. Although finding time to flip through each of the magazines is always a challenge, putting them away where I can access them easily was the solution I was looking for.

Of course organizing isn’t much fun alone, so miss Ivy decided she would lend a little moral support! We headed to The Container Store and purchased their graphite gray magazine files!  Back in the studio…the organization begins.

One of the first piles to tackle:

Ivy, my little helper is standing by to help out:

We are making progress:

Mission Accomplished! Ivy apparently wore herself out…looks like it’s nap time:

September 18, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Now that our website is updated and up & running, it’s time to unveil the final piece in our new look! We have also reconfigured our logo and it is super fun! Although I loved the lamp logo, I wanted something softer & a bit more chic.
Drum roll please!
A hugh THANK YOU to Rose at Bittersweet Design Studio. Need a new look, logo or wedding/baby stationary? She’s your girl!
Let us know what you think!! We had it created with two background options and a fun starburst accent to use on our stationary.

Wallpaper…wallcovering…Wow

As we have all seen wallpaper is in and it has officially made it’s comeback. This time the millions of options out there can be found from more affordable chic designs at retails like Ballard Designs,  Target & Brocade Home.  And if you were looking for a more chic “designer” product, there are quite a few places online that will sell to the public. Our local Benjamin Moore paint store has an amazing selection of papers to fit any style!

Not sure hot to implement wallpaper in your space? Take a look at how homeowners and designers are adding that extra “wow” to their spaces.

Fun tip: Look up for inspriration! Adding any bold or simple pattern to your room’s ceiling can bring that extra something to your space.

Maybe being so bold isn’t for you, try a tone on tone pattern with touches of metallic to create a focal point. It will still create that “wow” factor and give your room a focal point. Use it as art for the room too!

Rub the Buddha Belly!!

September 5, 2009 · Leave a Comment

IMG_0912

What is it with Buddha statues, art and themes in design these days? Well, I believe that people want to have peaceful spaces that are soothing and enjoyable to come home to.  I have been seeing Buddha everywhere these days and have even implemented versions of him in a few of my clients spaces.  Last summer we overhauled a client’s guest bedroom to have an Asian theme and having Buddha in the space was a must.

The Asian style may not be your ideal choice for a room in your house. And, having a “token” Buddha propped on a side table may not be your idea of accessorizing but you have to admit this chubby guy can bring a smile to your face!  Plus, how can you resist rubbing the belly!!
